At Cobh Comhaltas, we want everyone to have the chance to enjoy playing music — even if you don’t yet own an instrument.
We offer instrument rentals across our three terms each year — Autumn, Spring, and Summer — for just €30 per term. Instruments are returned at the end of each term so they’re ready for the next player.
We only ask that instruments are returned in good condition. Everyday wear like strings wearing out is fine, but if something gets damaged we’ll need to have it repaired before it can be passed on.
From the Autumn 2025 term onwards, rentals will be for two terms only. After that, renewals will be at the discretion of the Committee. The aim is to give as many people as possible the chance to try out an instrument and discover the joy of Trad music. By two terms in, most people know if they’d like to keep going — and that’s the perfect time to think about buying your own instrument.
